Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah was chosen for India’s Champions Trophy team on Saturday, even though there were concerns about his fitness.

Bumrah had back spasms and didn’t bowl on the final day of the fifth and last test match against Australia in Sydney two weeks ago. He was the top wicket-taker in the series.

Ajit Agarkar, the head of India’s selection committee, said Bumrah might play in the third one-day international against England on February 12 in Ahmedabad to check if he’s fit for the Champions Trophy. India’s first match in the tournament is eight days later in the United kingdom.
