KARACHI: The renovation work at Karachi's National Stadium is almost done as they get ready for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which is set to happen in February.

The improvements include building a new far-end structure. The players' section is finished, and they are now doing final work like cleaning and dividing spaces on the upper floors.

On Thursday, the PCB organized a media tour of the stadium to show the progress being made.

The General Manager of the National Stadium in Karachi, Arshad Khan, said that two special VIP areas are being set up. These areas can seat 1,050 people together and are located on the ground floor of a new building at the far end. They will be named after former cricket players Majid Khan and Zaheer Abbas. On Thursday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) organized a tour for the media to see how the work at the stadium is going.

Also, the current Majid Khan and Zaheer Abbas enclosures will be renamed to honor Younis Khan and Nazar Mohammad instead. The Quaid Enclosure will now be called the Shahid Afridi Enclosure.

Project leader Bilal Chauhan told the press that work on the main building is almost done. "The stands on the ground floor and the top floor will be finished soon. By January 28, the stands will be ready to have seats put in," Chauhan said.

He also mentioned that the players' changing rooms on the first floor are finished, and cleaning is happening now. He is sure that all the renovation work will be done by January 31, making sure the stadium is ready for the Champions Trophy and a three-team series.

The upgraded National Stadium will be a modern, top-quality place, offering a better experience for both players and fans.
