PAK vs SA 3rd ODI: Rizwan and Salman’s Record Partnership Powers Pakistan to Historic Win

PAK vs SA: Rizwan and Salman Lead Pakistan to Historic Win and Tri-Series Final

"Pakistan made history in the PAK vs SA 3rd ODI as Mohammad Rizwan and Salman Agha led a record-breaking partnership to chase down South Africa’s massive total in Karachi."

  • Rizwan and Salman’s Record Partnership in PAK vs SA 3rd ODI
  • Highest Successful Run Chase by Pakistan in ODI History

  • In an unforgettable match at the National Stadium in Karachi, Pakistan made history by chasing down their highest-ever target in One Day Internationals (ODIs). Facing South Africa in the third match of the ODI tri-series on February 12, Pakistan successfully chased a massive target of 353 runs, securing a spot in the final.

Rizwan and Salman Shine with Record Partnership

The heroes of the match were captain Mohammad Rizwan and vice-captain Salman Agha, who put together an incredible 260-run partnership. This stand not only helped Pakistan win the match but also broke multiple records:

    • It was the first time Pakistan chased a target of over 350 in ODIs, beating their previous best of 349 against Australia in 2022.
    • Rizwan and Salman set the record for the highest partnership by a Pakistani duo in a successful run-chase.
    • Their 260-run partnership is also the highest-ever for the fourth wicket or lower in ODI history while chasing.

    Brilliant Centuries Lead the Way

Mohammad Rizwan played a captain's knock, staying unbeaten on 122 off 128 balls. His innings were filled with classy strokes and smart running between the wickets. Salman Agha was in explosive form, smashing 134 off just 102 balls, taking on the South African bowlers with ease.

The chase wasn’t easy. Pakistan found themselves in a difficult spot at 93-3, but Rizwan and Salman stayed calm, building their innings steadily before accelerating towards the end. A memorable moment came when Rizwan reached his century with a massive six off Wiaan Mulder, sending the crowd into a frenzy.

    South Africa’s Strong Start

South Africa had set a challenging total of 352-5 after brilliant batting performances by Temba Bavuma (82), Matthew Breetzke (83), and Heinrich Klaasen (87). However, Pakistan’s determination and record-breaking partnership proved too strong to handle.

    What’s Next?

With this historic win, Pakistan has booked their place in the tri-series final, where they will face New Zealand on February 14 at the same venue in Karachi.
