The work to improve and update the National Stadium Karachi for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is almost done. However, the deadline to finish the project has been pushed back for the third time.

The deadline to finish the work has been pushed back for the third time, but there is a strong promise to complete everything by January 31. Arshad Khan, the General Manager of the National Stadium, and Project Manager Mohammad Bilal Chohan told the media that the construction will be done on time for the big event, according to Express News.

At first, the first part of the upgrade was supposed to be done by December 15, then it was moved to December 31, and later to January 25. Now, it’s confirmed that all the final work will be finished by January 31, so the stadium will be ready for the event.

The renovation project began on October 22 after getting approval from the PCB's governing board, led by Mohsin Naqvi. With the support of the construction companies involved, the project is on track to achieve its goals.

The third and fourth floors are almost done. They have 24 special seating areas for guests, which can hold up to 1,000 people. The fifth floor will have special boxes for the chairman and an office area. These will be finished on time.

Also, a new pathway is being built for guests to enter and exit. A modern route for players to come in and leave is being made, just like in big international stadiums. Special VIP areas are being set up around the new building, and teams will use gate number 11 to get into the stadium. Each level will have its own entrance, and new, high-tech elevators are being added to make it easier for guests to move around.

The ICC Champions Trophy will start with an opening ceremony at the National Stadium on February 19. Right after, the first match will be played between Pakistan and New Zealand. The second game, featuring Afghanistan and South Africa, will happen on February 21. The third match, between England and South Africa, is set for March 1.
